A Breeze At 72 Degrees

Jonny Lipford

Happy Flutin! Productions

"As he did on 2009's Turn The Page, Native flute player/ multi-instrumentalist Jonny Lipford once again takes his instrument into unusual territory, traipsing across assorted landscapes-- breezy, poppish jazz (the opening "Every Then & Now" and the mellow "A Part Of Me"), serene New Age ("Beyond The Sea"), chill-out ("Charming Elise"), even trip-hop ("Let It Go")-- usually accompanied by a combination of guitar, piano, keyboards, and drums or beats.  Some songs hew closer to a more tradional style of Native flute music.  Lipford may just be the most versatile artist recording Native flute music today, as A Breeze At 72 Degrees amply illustrates."
